Meals & Snacks

MEALS/SNACKS PROVIDED: Nutritionally well balanced, quality food is served in my Day Care Home. Meals and snacks are served only at announced hours. If parents miss the meal time, feeding the child prior to dropping them off is their responsibility.

PLEASE DO NOT send OR let your child bring in food & snacks!

I will provide breakfast, lunch, supper & 2/3 snacks per day. Your child will be continuously supervised by myself &/or hired assistants at all times during meals/snacks.

Meal Times will be served as follows: During the School Year (Summer times differ)

These Times depend on school days/early dismissal hrs and bus schedules. If your child will arrive half an hour after meal snack time PLEASE make sure you feed them prior to dropping them off.

Breakfast: 6:45 AM

Morning Snack: 9:00 AM

Lunch: 11:50 AM (NOTE: Lunch schedules are adjusted for Pre-K Bus Schedules)

Afternoon Snack: 4:00 PM (Or earlier when school dismisses early &/or on NO school days)

Supper is served ~ as needed @ 5:30/6:00 PM (Depending on School Activity/Sports Schedules)

*NOTE Eve Snack: Provided only by special arrangement (*At an additional cost if child has already had their three meal/snack limit per day. *)

I reserve the right to charge parents if their child is here for more than 3 meals/snacks per day.

* FOOD PROGRAM: My Day Care is enrolled in the Day Care Resources, Inc Food Program. This means I serve state approved meals & receive a reimbursment check (for up to 3 meals/snacks per day) for each child enrolled under the age of 12 yrs.

Any parent who does not wish to enroll thier child will be charged the follwing fees in addition to the hourly Day Care Rate:

Breakfast = $1.00
Lunch/Dinner = $2.00
and Snacks = .75 cents each
PER DAY, PER CHILD.

PLEASE NOTE: (PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS POINT TO YOUR CHILD) As a food program participant I AM REQUIRED TO SERVE STATE APPROVED MEALS/SNACKS AND PORTIONS.

This means your child will be offered a serving of each food required for that meal/snack, rather they like that food or not. By program policies I am asked to encourage children to try new foods even if they say they don't like them. If they choose NOT to eat what is offered that is up to them BUT IT MUST BE OFFERED TO THEM.

I usually do NOT offer substitues to ANYONE because there are so many picky eaters here I'd have to make a ten coarse meal just to TRY to satisfy everyone.

Occassionally I DO offer (surprise) REWARDS to those who clean their plates like on "Yukey Meal" days or for trying/eating foods they THOUGHT they didn't like!
